Prosolia Energy signs a financing agreement that will allow it to build 65MW of self-consumption projects in Spain and Portugal

After a first strategic agreement with Omnes Capital for the development, construction, and operation of a portfolio of “Utility-Scale” solar projects of more than 2GW in Europe, Prosolia Energy takes another step to strengthen its position as an independent energy producer, with this financing agreement with Susi Partners focused on its industrial self-consumption activity.

Prosolia Energy, within its planned growth plan for 2022, establishes an investment of more than €40M. The producer, thanks to this agreement, will increase its distributed generation portfolio by 65 MW of photovoltaic plants for industrial self-consumption in various locations in Spain and Portugal.

In this sense, the Prosolia Energy group adds a significant number of megawatts to its portfolio of distributed generation projects, thus increasing the company’s assets. These latest, whereof 40MW are already in execution divided into more than 30 photovoltaic self-consumption projects for industries in sectors as diverse as the automobile, food, lumber, mining, pharmaceutical, construction, and/or plastics among others, counting among its clients with multinationals of recognized international prestige.

This agreement for the financing of photovoltaic solar projects will allow Prosolia Energy to promote its international growth, not only developing and promoting industrial projects for third parties throughout Europe but also offering its client’s power sale contracts (“PPA”), thus promoting its facet independent power producer. With this, Prosolia Energy reaffirms its position as the main player in the photovoltaic market of onsite PPAs, being present throughout the value chain.

The growing need for other sources of energy generation, storage, and supply in favor of energy decentralization has led to synergies between industrial and energy companies with joint interests, this being one of the main points of Prosolia Energy’s value offer.

Within this framework, the success of this operation lies in a common vision of a customer-oriented business model, which firmly believes in the benefits of photovoltaic solar self-consumption, being able to provide sustainable and efficient alternatives.
